While these changes may have been necessary, Maxon saw no reason to update the AF-9’s classic, watery, 3-dimensional filtering that so many players have to come to count on over the years. This change was made out of necessity due to the discontinuation of the fader pots that had been used on this model for nearly 40 years (original release date was 1981).
Specifically, the Sensitivity & Peak faders have been replaced by rotary pots and the slider switches are now toggles. You may have noticed that the Maxon AF-9 Auto Filter has undergone a facelift.
